Marita Liss Retires
After 21 years with TBA Credit Union!
Described as inspirational, friendly, caring, and fun, Marita Liss is retiring after 21 years with TBA Credit Union. Starting her career as a member service representative, Marita was soon promoted to a full time position and has served as a Membership Officer for the past 18 years at the 8th Street branch. Her duties have included reviewing all membership applications and assisting in the management of the credit union's IRA and deferred compensation portfolios.
Throughout the years, Marita has been active in the community and especially passionate about making a difference through blood donations. To date, Marita has donated over 2 gallons of blood saving more than 50 lives!
Marita looks forward to biking, golfing, walking her dog, Trigger, and vacationing in North Carolina with her grandkids Landon, 5, Kennady, 2, and Dawson, 10 months. Here's what a few people had to say about Marita:

Tom Barnhart, Board of Directors
Spirited, quick-witted, and committed to his community, Tom Barnhart is retiring from TBA Credit Union's board of directors after 29 1/2 years of dedicated service. Formerly a special education teacher for Kalkaska Public Schools, Tom retired in 1998 after 22 years of teaching.
Over the years, Tom has seen many changes at the credit union. "When I started in 1980, TBA had $5 million in assets, one branch, and ten employees. Today we're a $120 million credit union serving over 11,000 members from three branches and a remote ATM with close to 40 employees!" The one thing that hasn't changed, though, "is the enthusiastic, friendly, helpful service credit union representatives deliver each day."
During Tom's tenure on the board, he served as board chair, secretary and treasurer and assisted the executive management team in leading the credit union's growth efforts.
About his departure from the board, Tom says, "I'm leaving at a good time. The credit union is well run with an excellent management team in place. I've enjoyed that the credit union has been and continues to be so successful."
