It’s that time of year again. The kids are headed to school and the Student-Run Credit Union is back for its 8th year! It’s never too early to teach kids financial responsibility. Since 2010, TBA Credit Union’s Student-Run Credit Union Program has had 1,728 volunteers and students have saved nearly $100,000.
“We are thrilled to be kicking off our eighth year of the Student-Run Credit Union Program,” said Christie Dompierre, TBACU Marketing Director. “The program was designed to provide students a first job experience and to give students the opportunity to develop smart money saving habits. Our long-term goal is to see in increase in financing literacy among young adults in our community.”
SRCU is free and available to any school in the 5-county region. Students who participate in SRCU build their confidence; learn financial responsibility, and leadership skills, along with building their employability skills.
TBA Credit Union also offers great student accounts. These accounts make saving fun and rewarding. Learn more about our Money Magic Club and iTeens accounts here.
