On December 13, 2017, TBA Credit Union presented a check for $725 to Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center.
The donation will help benefit the organization, a regional response center for the protection and well-being of children. Since 2010, the center has been the first stop for children who are suspected victims of sexual and physical abuse or who have witnessed a violent crime. Their mission is to protect children by providing prevention education and multi-disciplinary intervention in an environment that is child-sensitive, supportive, and safe.
The donations were comprised of raffle ticket sales from TBACU’s annual holiday party as well as separate, direct donations. Every year, staff members select a non-profit who will benefit from the ticket sales and the Children’s Advocacy Center was selected as the 2017 recipient.
“We are so grateful to partners like TBA Credit Union for their commitment to the safety and well-being of children,” said Sue Bolde, Executive Director of Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center. “Because of their help, we are able to provide trauma-informed services that children and families who are suffering from physical and sexual abuse need to move forward, free of charge. It takes all of us to build a community where the rate of child abuse diminishes to zero. Leaders like TBA Credit Union make a huge difference by raising awareness and financial support.”
