During every quarter in 2026, we will partner with an organization that makes a real impact—because together, we can make a difference.

To open your Membership Savings Account and become a member, all you need is a minimum deposit of $5.

3^rd Quarter’s Featured Non-Profit 

During July, August, and September 2026, new memberships supports: Michael’s Place. 

Michael’s Place provides compassionate support and resources for individuals and families navigating grief. Their programs create a safe, understanding environment where no one has to face loss alone. 

Michael’s Place supports our neighbors by providing: 

• Peer support groups for children, teens, and adults who are grieving
• Age-appropriate programs that help young participants process loss in a healthy way
• Community education and outreach to build awareness around grief and healing
• A welcoming space where individuals and families can find comfort, connection, and support through life’s most difficult moments

      Michael’s Place Impact: Layla’s Story: Finding Strength Through Grief

When 14-year-old Lyla first joined the grief group two years ago, she was carrying the pain of losing her aunt. Over time, she found a place where she could begin to heal, grow, and learn how to accept her loss. “Being in grief group has helped me grow to accept the loss of my aunt,” Lyla shares. Through her journey, Lyla discovered more than just support—she found a safe space where she could talk openly, connect with others who understood, and access tools and resources to help her navigate difficult moments. “My experience in grief group has been awesome,” she says. “Grief group has allowed me so many resources to help me through hard times.” 

Grief touches every stage of life, and Michael’s Place is committed to ensuring no one walks that journey alone. While we serve individuals and families of all ages, our youth programs provide children and teens with the essential foundations for healing: someone safe, someone honest, something predictable, and a place where they can express their grief and feel a sense of belonging. 
 
The result is a community of connection and care, where 100% of youth throughout our programming report feeling safe and welcomed, 97% feel connected to peers, and 93% experience meaningful growth in expressing their grief in healthy ways. 

When you choose TBACU, we’ll donate $10 directly to  Michael’s Place, turning your membership into meaningful, local impact for those who need it most. 

How It Works

1. Become a Member (YOU JOIN) – It only takes a few minutes! Stop by a branch, schedule an appointment for in-person, phone, or video, or apply for membership online.
2. No Lifetime Membership Fee (WE GIVE) –There is no membership fee to join TBACU. Instead, TBACU will make a donation directly to the nonprofit we’re supporting this quarter. All you need is a minimum deposit of $5 into a TBACU Members Savings Account.
3. Nonprofit Selection – Each quarter, our team members vote on a local nonprofit to receive these donations.

Every new member means more resources, more support, and more hope for those who need it most.

First Quarter’s Impact

Thanks to our new members, first quarter’s You Join. We Give. donations added up to $4,220 in support of Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA)-helping fund essential programs that strengthen families and individuals across Northern Michigan. Thank you for your membership! 

Second Quarter’s Impact

Thanks to the support of new members who joined in Q2, TBA Credit Union donated $5,150 to The Father Fred Foundation. Every new membership helped make a difference by funding essential resources for local individuals and families, including food assistance, clothing, household items, personal care products, and financial support.
